We spent the weekend in Frankfurt am Main visiting Fredrik’s sister Emma who is currently living and working in the city. The financial headquarter of Europe; I’ve never seen as many skyscrapers in any other European city. Almost like a New York skyline but with the German charm. Fresh asparagus, local apfelwein and beer by the liter at outdoor restaurants. A city is almost always best discovered with a local guide. Emma showed us the best restaurants around, the shopping streets and the historical sites. The Frankfurt love bridge, Eiserner Steg, and the Frankfurt Cathedral, Kaiserdom Sankt Bartholomäus, were well worth the visit. And of course you have to stroll by the financial district, just because.
If around, book at table at Walon & Rosetti on Moselstrasse 15,
or swing by Das Leben ist schön on Hanauer Landstraße 198.
We are planing a return trip in the beginning of August. That time we are also renting a car to go visit the wine yards in Mosel (I love their Riesling) and do a quick stop in Luxemburg.
